Buttermilk Fried Chicken
Buttermilk chicken fried in peanut oil. Delicious and unhealthy.
Ingredients
- 2 qt Peanut Oil
- 3 lb Chicken Breast, flattened to 3/4"
- 2 cups Buttermilk
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp White Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Ground Thyme
- 1/4 tsp Dried Rosemary
- 1/4 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1/4 tsp Dried Sage
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 2 cups Flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp White Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
Recipe
Cut breasts into quarters. Place in a large bowl and toss with the first block of spices to coat. Stir in buttermilk and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for 6 hours.
Combine flour with the second block of spices in a large shallow dish. Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge in the seasoned flour. Shake off any excess coating before transferring to a plate.
Heat peanut oil to 350F in a deep pan or dutch oven. Add all chicken to the pan and cook for 10 minutes. Turn chicken pieces and cook for another 10-15 minutes. Remove and transfer to a paper towel lined plate.
Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
