Ingredients
- 12 Lasagna Pasta Noodles
- 1 lb Spicy Italian Sausage
- 1/2 lb Ground Beef
- 2 cups Whole Milk Mozzarella
- 15 oz Skim Ricotta
- 15 oz Diced Tomatoes, San Marzano, drained
- 24 oz Marinara Sauce
- 1 Large Yellow Onion, diced
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 Large Egg
- 1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1/2 tsp Dried Basil
- 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
Recipe
Preheat oven to 375F.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package. Place the noodles into a large bowl of cold water and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown and crumble sausage and ground beef. Once meat has cooked through, add onion and garlic and cook until onion has softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the diced tomatoes. Remove skillet from heat and set aside.
Add marinara sauce, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to a bowl and stir.
Add ricotta and egg to another bowl and whisk together.
Remove the lasagna noodles from the water and pat dry.
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Add a thin layer of marinara sauce to the dish. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top. Spread a bit of the ricotta evenly on the noodles. Add a layer of marina sauce and then a layer of the meat mixture. Sprinkle 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat the layers 2 more times, ending with the cheese on top.
Lightly spray the bottom side of a foil and cover the dish tightly. Bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
Cut into squares and serve.
Enjoy!
