Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 375F.

  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package. Place the noodles into a large bowl of cold water and set aside.

  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown and crumble sausage and ground beef. Once meat has cooked through, add onion and garlic and cook until onion has softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the diced tomatoes. Remove skillet from heat and set aside.

  4. Add marinara sauce, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to a bowl and stir.

  5. Add ricotta and egg to another bowl and whisk together.

  6. Remove the lasagna noodles from the water and pat dry.

  7. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Add a thin layer of marinara sauce to the dish. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top. Spread a bit of the ricotta evenly on the noodles. Add a layer of marina sauce and then a layer of the meat mixture. Sprinkle 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat the layers 2 more times, ending with the cheese on top.

  8. Lightly spray the bottom side of a foil and cover the dish tightly. Bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes.

  9. Cut into squares and serve.

Enjoy!
